The sheer delight in painting so evidenced in the work of Candace Browne only partly explains its allure. Her marks, at once aggressive and delicate, the shapes she creates, where and when she stops working on a piece, declaring it done, all come together to reveal a deep understanding of what Art truly is. Given the level of anxiety in the world today, these paintings are as subversive as they come; they,"roll in ecstasy at your feet."   -   Toni S.

In a word "FANTASTIC" I like all of the paintings but, I especially like the beautiful 2010-06-22 Pitchers with Flowers, Lace Curtain and 2010 06-15 Untitled.  Also 2010-05-27 Untitled and 2010-03-18 Majik. Candace is a true artist and ... most importantly SHE LOVES WHAT SHE IS DOING! AND IT SHOWS.   -   Gena C.

The art hits the eye in the most satisfying way. It embraces the viewer with the feeling that all is right with the world. One just wants to jump in and live in the canvas because it surely seems to be a much more beautiful world. But the paintings are much more than just beautiful. They are filled with depth and relevance as well. You can easily spot Browne's influences of Ingres and de Kooning but then, when you look back you see a completely individual work that seems as if it's always been there but fresh and alive at the same time.   -   Jim B.

What a wonderful website, Candace! Smart and classy! A worthy venue for your work -- which is exquisite. Your paintings evoke in me a complex joy, like the memory of childhood daydreams, full of light and color and air. Your palette is uplifting, kinetic, liberating. You've answered the despair of a world grown increasingly dark. You've recovered the truth in beauty. Thank you!   -   Donato C.

What a joy I had viewing your recent work. You are obviously having a blast and it is evidenced by the profusion of all the glorious colors. Reminds me of patchwork quilts. I loved "Big Whoop".   -   Frances H.
